Day 1 will be a breakdown of duties and expectations within the Hair Department. Participants will be learning fundamental skills ie. callsheets, continuity, script breakdown, basic duties of assistant and key positions

Participants will be taking part in The Texture Workshops: Braiding and Wig Application.  Get a mannequin and learn braiding techniques, followed by a tutorial of tips and tricks for wig application that looks great on camera.

Time to mimick a day on set! Using a mock call sheet, participants will be immersed in a replication of a typical film day. "Actors" with different hair types and of various ethnicities will be brought in and participants will have a chance to get them ready to head to set.

Participants will be taking part of The Texture Workshops: Natural Hairstyling. This includes Black History, an in depth breakdown of the different curl patterns and structure of textured hair and styling techniques.

This day is focussed on fundamental styling techniques and event styling for straight hair. Learn different curling iron techniques, styling methods and updos on mannequin heads.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a paid work placement in the hair department on a Front Street Pictures set. Each participant will get insight on what happens during prep and then work on set for one week out of a three week shoot for the ultimate film training.
