About Elevating Diversity

We are proud to introduce Elevating Diversity, a groundbreaking program out of the Texture Workshops series, created with Front Street Pictures Inc.,
in collaboration with Black Screen Office.

During a comprehensive five day workshop, a group of ten participants
will undergo intensive training designed to equip them with the skills and
knowledge required for success. The program begins with the completion of the Motion Picture Orientation course, followed by a week-long, hands-on training led by industry professionals.

To cap off this program, Front Street Pictures will provide participants with the opportunity to shadow experienced professionals within the hair department during a paid placement for one week on a real film set.

The goal of this program is to enhance the level of skill and visibility for Black hairstylists in the Film & Television industry. We want to create a space where Black Hairstylists can flourish, and talent can feel assured that their hair is in capable hands.
 

Together we can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and ensure that there’s diversity within the workplace, along with textured hair receiving the attention and respect that it deserves in the world of Film & Television.
